The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is an odd anime in a class all it's own. It seems like they forced many otakus in one room; and told them to come up with an anime idea. The story centers around a gril named Haruhi Suzumiya, who is considered god in this alternate universe. It's told from another person's point of view, and is really good.
